The resurrection of the Pink Tea Cup in Greenwich Village, which closed in January, will soon open nearby and on a much grander scale than the venerable soul food restaurant. The new owner, Lawrence Page, has given it a polished setting with more than 100 seats, a full bar, a lounge, a cabaret and also a 600-seat catering hall. It came about fortuitously. Mr. Page, who owned the Actors Playhouse on Seventh Avenue South, had already rented the space to open a wine bar, but when the Pink Tea Cup closed he decided it had to be saved. So he moved it over to the space he already had and what had been the Actors Playhouse. The classic soul food menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner has also been expanded, with dishes like rack of lamb with lobster mashed potatoes, as well as some lighter dishes. Mr. Page has Glander Glover, who had been a chef at the original restaurant for 15 years, back in the kitchen, along with the executive chef, Angela Groover. “I want an all-female kitchen,” Mr. Page said. It opens June 7.
