Chord Overstreet Leaving Glee

Gleeks may have seen the last of Sam Evans.

While Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr.,(who play Blaine and Mike on Glee, respectively) will reportedly be upgraded to full-time series regulars this fall, Chord Overstreet will not be returning.

Say it ain't so, right?

Sorry, we can't.

At this time, Fox has not picked up Overstreet's option to return as a series regular, though the door will be left open for him to appear occasionally as a guest, sources tell Deadline.com. The network did not immediately return E! News' request for comment, but the heartthrobby actor-singer himself shed some light on the situation:

"Well its been a good yr too bad its over, time for summer and starting fresh," he tweeted Friday.

Meanwhile, that's not the only New Direction Glee may be taking soon.

News of Overstreet's ousting comes on the heels of Ryan Murphy's recent announcement to Ryan Seacrest that many of the musical show's main characters will graduate by the end of season three (which could mean no more Rachel, Finn and Quinn, to name just a few).

But all is intact for now, at least. The heart of the cast, including Overstreet, is currently on tour in Ireland.
