natural stone

Last October we went looking for granite & marble for our La Estancia home at Marmolería Psenda on Avenida de Chile in Salta city.

Foolish as we are, we decided to walk from the center of town. It's a long walk, especially the return. We enjoyed it because of things to see along the way, including the dry river, which is now now deep & brown. Friends in Salta tell us this summer has been awful: it's been raining every day for two months.

At Psenda, we chose granite for the kitchen & laundry, marble for the bathrooms, but we weren't excited about our choices. We like the large swirly patterns. Psenda doesn't carry them.

Earlier this week in Buenos Aires, at Florencia Chapar's suggestion, we took a taxi to the 7400 block of Avenida del Libertador where marmolerías appear every few store fronts. Forte dei Marmi carries not only the Verde Alpe marble we'd already chosen at Ragolia for the bathrooms, but also the magnificent Ekos Chocolate granite for the kitchen & the simple Kashimir White granite for the laundry.
